Releasing the Year, New Year Resolutions

Resolutions, I’ve read so many posts on Facebook recently saying “can’t wait to see the back of 2017”, if that’s you then you may want to give this a try Releasing the Year and setting your New Years Intentions and Resolutions.

Every year just before New Year’s Eve I sit with my journal and coloured pens to release the previous year! Yep, the good, the bad and the ugly… and write down my goals, wishes, intentions and resolutions for the new year. I’ve been using the same journal for a few years now and it’s good to sit back and review previous years.

This year I’ve cut out friends who I found negative and fearful, or who were dragging me down! It’s never easy to cut out people you care about, but it brought in space for new friends who were on the same page and had the same values as me. I’ve changed my work too, to allow me to focus on new projects. There are so many things that I haven’t done too, but reflecting allows me to change this for 2017.

Releasing the year can be challenging, sometimes it’s hard to find the good things that have happened, if you’ve had a bereavement, change in circumstances, money worries, anxiety… reflecting on it can get you down! So it can be worthwhile doing this exercise with your friends or family. If you feel it’s been a negative year for you then try and find 50 good things that have happened to you. Write down your feelings too, what made you happy, sad and how you want to feel in 2017.

Here are some things I write in my journal to help you get started.

  • What beautiful lessons did I learn in 2016
  • What dreams came true in 2016
  • I know myself more because…
  • I was transformed in 2016 by..
  • I let go of…
  • I am happy because…
  • The incredible things I learnt about myself..
  • 2016 led me to ..
  • I am proud of myself because …
  • My 2016 rant and release, what went wrong…
  • 2017 work and business goals
  • 2017 places I want to visit
  • 2017 things I want to experience and feel
  • How would you I like to donate my free time..
  • My spiritual goals for 2017
  • 2017 health & fitness goals
  • 2017 friendship goals & wishes
  • 2017 my promise to myself
  • A list of 100 things to do in 2017

So what do you want for 2017?

Jar of Blessings

Another thing you may want to do is create a jar of blessings going forward for 2018.  Get a jar, an old jam jar will do if you don’t want to buy one, and pieces of small coloured paper.  I definitely recommend buying the paper in advance for this, and the more colourful the better.  As of January 1st 2018, every time something good happens in your life or you create a memory, jot it down on a piece of the coloured paper and throw it in the jar.  It could be anything from a friend getting in touch, receiving flowers or gifts, a day trip, a special evening out, getting a promotion at work, seeing your family members achieving success….  Put all your good memories in the jar, at between Christmas and New Year of 2018 open the jar up and you’ll find that you had a positive year.  Some people find opening the jar up early when they are having a bad day can help by just pulling out 1 or 2 memories.

Need more help?

If you’re struggling and feeling stuck get in touch, talking, homeopathic remedies, nutrition, reiki and crystal healing may help towards getting you on track in 2017.

Wishing you everything that you wish for yourself and more …..

With love
