Let’s take a look at how homeopathy can help the heart-broken, the tender hearted, those who fall in love with the unobtainable, and those wrapped up full of gooey love and happiness. Plus a little bit of nutrition to help nourish the heart!
Those of you who are clients or know a little about homeopathy, understand that it can help both emotional conditions and physical ailments. Hence why I ask all those endless questions during a consultation! In homeopathy we see the physical and emotional side within the body as linked, and an imbalance within needs to be corrected to bring back overall wellbeing.
The Heart is seen as the seat of the emotions, love, joy, happiness, grief or sadness. Louise Hay author of “You Can Heal your Life”, sees the heart as the centre of love and security. With physical issues such as heart attacks and Myocardial infarction as squeezing all the joy out of the heart in favour of money or a position. And general heart problems being due to longstanding emotional problems, lack of joy and happiness in ones life, the hardening of the heart locking down to love and belief in stress and strain during life.
Have you ever heard the term “she died of a broken heart”? Only the other month the Star Wars star Carrie Fisher died suddenly at the age of 60. Barely a day later her mother Debbie Reynolds died, she had said “I want to be with Carrie” and suffered a suspected stoke.
Often we can see that after a grief or loss of a loved one, the physical heart shows problems, and there are homeopathic remedies that can unravel this grief and help the person overcome their sadness. A fantastic homeopathic remedy is Aurum, or gold, which may help when heart disease comes following grief, either the loss of a loved one, or it could be after retirement or a business or work failure.
There are also homeopathic remedies to deal with specific heart concerns, such as blood pressure, cholesterol, angina, arrhythmia and palpitations, cardiomyopathy. There’s a useful therapeutic combination remedy for those with heart issues with the remedies cactus, crategus and china which can be taken daily. Following a heart attack the remedy Aconite can be useful to some, particularly when the patients says “I’m going to Die”, they have a real fear of death. When it comes to High Blood Pressure there are so many remedies depending on your symptoms including Nat Mur, Nux Voxica, Crategus, Passiflora and many others.
When it comes to pathology of the heart it’s always best to see a qualified homeopath rather than self prescribing, especially if you are on medication.
But what about when it comes to emotional affairs of the heart? Let’s take a look at LOVE, after all it’s Valentines Day. If you’re single and longing for a relationship, one of the recommended remedies is Vanilla.
Sometimes people experience jealousy, and that can be when you’re in a relationship, following a break-up or when you’re desperate to be part of a couple, that’s when the remedy Lachesis may be the one to try. Lachesis is from the venomous Bushmaster snake, it’s often a shy creature, but once provoked it hisses and bites, think of how a jealous lover may react!
For those feeling disappointed in love or heart broken, there are a few remedies, Aurum (Gold) as I’ve mentioned, but the remedy I prescribe most to clients is Nat Mur (Natrum Muriaticum/salt) and Ignatia. Both of these remedies work well for the heart-broken, when they have high hopes and dreams of where the relationship is going to find it fails and leaves them disappointed. Nat Mur is good for anyone who falls in love with the wrong person, for example a Married Man or someone unavailable. The new remedy Rhodochrosite helps those who have hardened their heart after a deep hurt to move on and give love again. Slate can also help!
And for those all loved up this Valentine’s Day, Strawberry is a lovely remedy for romantic love. But when things get out of hand there areremedies for you too. The main remedy being Coffea (coffee), for those experiencing excessive joy, maybe you only need this one if it’s getting really out of hand and unhealthy, think of how you feel when you smell freshly brewed coffee first thing in the morning!
Maybe you’re just fed up of all the Commercial tat, who feel Love should be celebrated every day, and are irritable wanting to be left alone, away from friend, or maybe feeling that love is not achievable, Phosphorus may be worth thinking about.
